Jordan Brant
Brant is an intriguing project for Clark, who has mentored the 23-year-old goalie for the past three seasons. Brant started playing hockey late, beginning at the age of 14, and while his thin resume made it difficult to advance, hasn’t given up.
Brant enters his first season of minor pro hockey after spending the last season playing collegiately (Portage College) and the previous four in juniors. He is a product of the Notre Dame Hounds in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, where he played in 21 games and posted a 2.79 GAA and .911 save percentage during the 2016-17 season. He moved on to the Springfield Jr. Blues program in the NAHL and put up a 2.93 GAA and .924 save percentage.
“Jordy has persevered through some tough times, but he is a talented goaltender,” said Clark. “He has pro size, and I am confident he will work his way up through the minors. It’s in his blood.”
