IEG goaltender Leslie makes college commitment
AUBURN, Maine - Twin City Thunder goaltender and IEG member Connor Leslie has committed to attend and play this coming fall at Amherst College, located in Amherst, Mass.
Leslie, a 2001-born native of Leesburg, Va., is in his first season playing in the NCDC with Twin City. He has played in 12 games in this Covid-shortened season and sports a 3.30 GAA and a .902 save percentage.
"I am extremely proud to announce my decision to attend Amherst. It's one of the finest academic schools in the country. My plan is to set myself up for after hockey, and enjoy my college years. I feel fortunate."
Joe Clark, IEG founder, said Leslie's game and confidence has progressed playing for TC Thunder head coach Dan Hodge. The entire league moved its operation to Tampa, Fla., playing in a hockey bubble to get their season in.
"He has blossomed with Twin City," said Clark. "It's all about confidence and it's a tough league. I am proud of Connor's decision to attend Amherst. It's an elite school and certainly not easy to get into. It's a big day for everyone involved with Connor and his family."
Amherst College is a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference. The Mammoth's head coach, Jack Arena, is a 1983 graduate of Amherst.
